Launched by DTU – Technical University of Denmark and co-founded by PSV Foundry, DTU Skylab, DTU Science Park and DTU Entrepreneurship, SkyFactory is a new scaling hub created to help the most promising science-based startups grow from early stage to international scale.

A new kind of factory
Over the past decade, DTU has built one of Europe’s strongest innovation ecosystems with more than 120 startups in 2024 and 21% of all Danish venture capital flowing to DTU-based companies.
It has become a place where research turns into reality.
Now DTU is taking the next step, helping the most promising startups move from university spinout to global scaleup.
The ambition is clear: one in ten DTU startups should grow into a scaleup with international impact.
DTU SkyFactory will be the launchpad for those companies ready to take that leap.
How it works
SkyFactory offers long-term support for startups with genuine scaling potential, typically over a three-to-five-year journey.

It creates the conditions for science-based startups to move from prototype to product and from lab to life.
At the helm is Mikkel Sørensen, Director of DTU Skylab and EU innovation adviser.
Mikkel has spent the past decade turning research environments into thriving innovation ecosystems, combining persistence with a deep understanding of what founders actually need to grow.
